A Virtual Business Card in an Instant
The moment your Arro Business Account application is approved, we will send out your virtual Business MasterCard® details via SMS – but what does this mean?
It means that you get all of the details you might be asked to enter when using a debit card to make purchases online, for example:
- Card number
- Expiry date
- Card Verification Value (CVV)
Your physical MasterCard® will follow in the post, allowing you to make in-person purchases in shops by debit card, as well as serving as your cash card for use at ATMs.
But with the virtual details, you can start making cardholder-not-present purchases as soon as your business account is open and funds deposited.
The alternative to an online business bank account
To get a business debit card you might think that you need to open an online business bank account, but this is not the case – the Arro Business Account is not a bank account, and is one of the UK’s only business accounts that guarantees approval (subject to basic ID checks).
Your Arro Business Account has many of the standard features that you would get with an online business bank account, including access to our bespoke money management platform and the ability to make Faster Payments and Direct Debits*, accept payments in via your sort code and account number, and so on.
But there’s no jumping through hoops to get approved – just fill in your basic contact details, age (Arro accounts are for aged 18 and over), company name and UK address, and in most cases we can auto-approve you and open your account immediately.
No waiting for your Virtual Business Card
The virtual Business MasterCard® you receive is a debit card and, combined with the fact that we do not provide an overdraft facility, this means there is no need for a credit agreement or background credit check to open your account.
As well as ensuring your application leaves no mark on your credit file, this means there is no delay to issuing your debit card details – and we can send them to you by SMS even before the physical card arrives in the post.
For your part, you just need to transfer some funds into your new Arro Business Account or accept your first payments into the account from clients, and those deposits will be available to spend using your virtual card details.
Initially the virtual card details can be used anywhere you simply enter the card number, CVV and expiry date, as is the norm with most online purchases, but it should only be a matter of days before the physical card arrives in the post and enables in-person transactions and cash machine withdrawals too.
Manage your money with your business cash card
Your virtual debit card provides you with a card number, expiry date and CVV – the 3-digit number normally found on the signature strip, which is usually needed for cardholder-not-present purchases – for online transactions and anywhere else you can manually enter the card number.
The physical card follows in the post and unlocks even more capabilities, many of which are fee-free under our transparent Arro Business Account pricing structure:
- Debit card purchases in-store.
- ATM withdrawals (the first ten are free).
- Access to certain account admin at ATMs.
Of course you can continue to shop online once the physical card arrives, using the same details that were sent to you by SMS on the day you signed up for your Arro Business Account – the physical card just serves as an extra reminder of the necessary information when filling in online payment forms.
And as Arro Business cards are issued by MasterCard®, they come with complete peace of mind that your card will be accepted wherever you see the MasterCard® logo, and that any card payments you make will be processed correctly just as they would with any other MasterCard® Debit Card.
See what you spend
You can keep track of all your card spending on the Arro account management dashboard, developed in-house to make it easier to sort through transactions and filter them to find exactly the information you need.
Simple tick-box filters display each type of transaction, for example contactless card payments, ATM withdrawals, or other non-card transactions like Direct Debits* and Faster Payments transfers.
You can also see in an instant exactly how much is still in your account balance, so that you know how much you can spend on your debit card before any further incoming funds transfers or client payments clear.
